Good analytical results can be helped or hurt by the visual used to display the data.

The attached image comes from the World Economic Forum 2022 Global Risks Report which is a well polished report. I’ve seen these types of figures become more popular, but I personally struggle to understand the utility in them for the consumer. To me, it ends up looking like a plate of spaghetti and takes far too much time to understand the key takeaways.

What am I missing? What are your thoughts?
